About the Opportunity
Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential federal technology contractor working to modernize government services through scalable software solutions. We're seeking a Data Engineer to build and maintain data infrastructure supporting a cloud-based case management system for a major federal financial regulatory agency.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain data marts, materialized views, and data pipelines within an AWS hosted data lake environment
- Design, build, and optimize data workflows and pipelines to support agency-wide analytics and reporting
- Monitor data infrastructure health, troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and data quality issues
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and agency stakeholders to scale and support new data-driven initiatives
- Support compliance with federal data security requirements including FISMA and NIST 800-53
What We're Looking For
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with large-scale data infrastructure on AWS
- Data Pipeline Experience: Proven track record building and maintaining data marts, materialized views, or ETL/ELT pipelines
- Cloud Infrastructure: Familiarity with AWS data services and cloud-based data infrastructure
- Database Management: Experience maintaining and migrating relational database environments, particularly PostgreSQL
- Data Types: Experience working with both structured and unstructured data
- Federal Environment: Understanding of data security and governance in federal environments
- Collaboration: Thrives in a remote, collaborative Agile environment and enjoys working closely with cross-functional teams
- Communication: Communicates clearly whether documenting data architectures or collaborating with engineers on integration design
- Education: Bachelor's Degree required
- Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States. In alignment with federal contract requirements, this role may require U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a federal background investigation and/or security clearance
