Special Ed. Paraprofessional – Secondary

Seaman Unified School District 345 in Topeka, Shawnee County is seeking a part-time Special Education Paraprofessional to support teachers and students in our secondary school, helping to create an inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.

About the Role

This part-time position runs four hours per day throughout the school year. You'll work alongside teachers to ensure students with special education needs receive the direct support they need to succeed in the classroom and throughout the school day.

What You'll Do

• Assist classroom teachers with instruction and classroom management
• Work with small groups of students on academic skills and concepts
• Provide one-on-one support to students to reinforce learning and build confidence
• Help prepare and organize materials for classroom instruction
• Monitor student progress and communicate with teaching staff about student performance
• Support students during transitions and school activities

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED
• College coursework or experience in education or a related field (preferred but not required)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with students, families, and school staff
• Commitment to supporting students with diverse learning needs
• Reliability and willingness to follow classroom routines and procedures
