About the Role

As a Licensed Steam Operator based at our cogeneration and steam plant in Boron, California, you will manage the Control Room and oversee boilers, water softeners, and supporting equipment. The facility burns natural gas to generate electricity and steam, and you'll play a central part in keeping production stable, compliant, and dependable. You will report directly to the Plant Supervisor and Operations Manager within the plant's operations team.

Key Responsibilities

• Run and monitor Control Room operations, adjusting plant systems to maintain safe and reliable output.
• Operate, inspect, and maintain boilers, water softeners, and related cogeneration equipment.
• Track performance readings and respond promptly to changing plant conditions.
• Support steam and electricity generation from natural gas in line with operational and safety standards.
• Coordinate with supervisors and fellow operators to sustain continuous plant performance.

Qualifications

• A current, valid steam operator license is required for this position.
• Hands-on familiarity with boilers, water treatment and softening systems, and Control Room procedures.
• Background in cogeneration, power generation, or industrial steam plant operations.
• Strong attention to safety, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
• Willingness to work full-time and on-site at the Boron, Kern County facility.
