Spanish-English Freelance Interpreter

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential language services organization seeking Spanish-English interpreters based in Latin America. This fully remote freelance role offers flexible scheduling and the chance to facilitate critical communications across industries including healthcare, business, and community services.

Responsibilities

• Answer interpretation calls professionally, adhering to established interpreter codes of conduct
• Process information quickly and accurately during consecutive and simultaneous interpretation sessions
• Render correct concepts and meanings between Spanish and English, avoiding omissions or additions
• Master industry-specific vocabulary, with particular emphasis on healthcare and medical terminology
• Explain cultural concepts when appropriate to prevent miscommunication
• Participate in ongoing professional training and development programs
• Maintain detailed notes during sessions to ensure accuracy
• Report regularly to your assigned team leader

What We're Looking For

• Native or fluent proficiency in both Spanish and English (90% English proficiency minimum)
• Must be based in Latin America
• Minimum 1 year of professional interpretation experience
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking abilities
• Strong understanding of interpretation protocols and ethics
• Ability to work in a quiet, secure home office environment
• Steady wired internet connection (wireless not acceptable)
• USB wired headset
• Windows 10 or Mac computer
• Willingness to complete language testing and background checks as required by location

Pay
