Senior Software Engineer – Supply Chain

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential retail technology organization seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Supply Chain engineering team. In this role, you'll design and build cloud-native solutions that power warehouse operations, transportation systems, and order fulfillment at scale. You'll work on event-driven architectures and microservices that enable high-volume, business-critical inventory and logistics workflows.

This is a remote position within the United States, offering the opportunity to collaborate with distributed teams through both virtual collaboration and occasional in-person team events.

Responsibilities

• Drive development of backend services and APIs that support warehouse, transportation, and fulfillment systems
• Build event-driven integrations and service orchestration solutions for supply chain operations
• Design and implement microservices architecture using containerization and cloud-native patterns
• Monitor and resolve software defects in production systems while mentoring junior engineers
• Research and recommend optimizations to improve performance, reliability, and scalability
• Contribute to technical roadmaps and coordinate development work within your product team
• Participate in CI/CD pipeline development and infrastructure automation
• Implement observability tooling including logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices

What We're Looking For

Required Experience:

• 3–6 years of software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin or Java with Spring Boot for backend development
• Experience designing and building REST APIs and event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Familiarity with Apache Camel and/or Spring Integration for service orchestration
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems and microservices
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure (AKS, Azure Functions, cloud services)
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
• SQL and NoSQL database experience
• Comfort working in Linux/Unix environments with Git version control
• Understanding of secure software development practices
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience preferred

Bonus Skills:

• React and/or React Native frontend development
• Manhattan Active Supply Chain platform experience
• Supply chain or logistics domain knowledge
• Interest in AI tooling and adoption
