The Opportunity
The Nevada SLED team represents Cisco's deep commitment to the public sector. Government agencies, school districts, universities, and health systems across Nevada face complex IT challenges that directly shape student success, constituent services, and organizational efficiency. You'll partner with account executives to solve these challenges head-on, translating Cisco's technology portfolio into measurable business value. This role gives you access to cutting-edge infrastructure and security solutions, plus the backing of specialist teams and partner networks—everything needed to deliver exceptional outcomes in the education and government verticals.
Core Duties
- Build lasting technical relationships with Nevada government and education customers, serving as their trusted technical advisor and advocate.
- Assess customer IT environments and business priorities, then develop solution architectures that align with their strategic objectives and mission outcomes.
- Design and execute proof-of-concept and proof-of-value projects to demonstrate Cisco solution effectiveness and business impact.
- Create and drive technical account plans that shape overall engagement strategy and expansion opportunities with accounts.
- Lead customer adoption and successful deployment of Cisco technologies by coordinating internal specialists and channel partners.
Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in technical sales, solutions engineering, or presales roles.
- Working knowledge of Cisco products or proven expertise with major competitive platforms.
- Strong ability to translate technical solutions into business value and communicate ROI to decision-makers.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field—or equivalent professional experience.
- Professional certifications such as CCIE or CCNP highly desired.
- Advanced proficiency in Cisco and enterprise infrastructure: switching, wireless, routing, data centers, and security solutions.
- Understanding of software-defined networking, collaboration systems, and data center architecture.
- Strong communication, presentation, and technical consulting capabilities.
- Familiarity with AI infrastructure concepts and enterprise AI use cases.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to emerging technology trends.
