Executive Director

Distro seeks an Executive Director to lead its legal services mission in Broward County. As the organization's chief executive, you'll oversee a team of over 100 attorneys, advocates, and professional staff dedicated to providing free civil legal assistance to low-income families and individuals across South Florida.

About This Position

This is your opportunity to guide a respected nonprofit legal services organization through its next phase of growth and impact. The Executive Director role combines strategic vision with hands-on operational leadership. You'll shape organizational direction, cultivate partnerships with government agencies and community organizations, advance policy initiatives that expand access to justice, and ensure every client receives high-quality representation. Based in Broward County and serving Broward and Collier Counties through offices in Plantation, Naples, and Immokalee, you'll work closely with a Board of Directors and community partners to fulfill the nonprofit's mission of supporting long-term self-sufficiency for vulnerable populations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership and strategic direction for the organization
• Oversee financial stewardship, budgeting, grants compliance, and contract management
• Lead, support, and develop a team of over 100 attorneys, advocates, and staff through professional growth initiatives and modern tools
• Represent the organization publicly and strengthen relationships with advocacy groups, government entities, and community partners
• Advance policy leadership on access-to-justice issues affecting low-income communities
• Maintain high standards for client-centered legal services delivery
• Collaborate strategically with the Board of Directors
• Enhance operational efficiency across office infrastructure, technology, and administrative systems

Requirements

• Licensed attorney in good standing in Florida
• Minimum 10 years of legal practice experience
• At least 7 years in senior management roles, including experience supervising teams of 100 or more
• Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, financial reporting, and grant management
• Proven track record in fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations
• Strong commitment to the nonprofit's mission and vision
• Established ties to the South Florida community
• Experience collaborating with diverse communities and demonstrated cultural competency
• Professionalism, sound judgment, adaptability, and collaborative leadership style
