What This Role Involves

As our Benefits & Leave Specialist, you'll serve as a key member of the Human Resources team, responsible for administering and supporting employee benefit programs and managing leave requests and policies. This role is essential to ensuring our team members have the information and support they need regarding their benefits and time-off entitlements. You'll be the go-to resource for employees navigating benefit questions, enrollment processes, and leave-related procedures.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Manage employee benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, changes, and terminations across company programs
  • Process and track vacation, sick leave, and other paid time off requests in accordance with company policy and applicable regulations
  • Respond promptly to employee inquiries regarding benefits eligibility, coverage details, and claims procedures
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and benefits documentation
  • Coordinate with benefits vendors, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators to resolve issues and obtain compliance information
  • Ensure all benefits administration practices align with federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Prepare and distribute benefits communications, educational materials, and policy updates to employees
  • Support benefits-related reporting and audit processes as needed

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred)
  • 1–3 years of experience in benefits administration, employee services, HR operations, or a related field
  • Proficiency with benefits management software systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex benefits information clearly
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to handle sensitive employee information with confidentiality and professional discretion
  • Knowledge of FMLA, ACA, ERISA, and other employment-related regulations is a strong plus
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment with strong self-motivation
