Software Engineer II – Full-Stack

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential food-tech organization seeking a Software Engineer II - Full-Stack to join their London team. In this role, you will contribute directly to achieving goals across multiple teams and projects while working closely with managers and group leads.

Technical Execution:

• Improve code structure, influence architecture decisions, and review code across any scope produced by your team
• Simplify the maintenance and operation of production systems, enhancing visibility, operational readiness, and overall system health
• Own larger pieces of work and assist with design and technical implementation choices
• Influence the technical roadmap within your team

Collaboration & Leadership:

• Build relationships with other engineering teams and identify collaboration opportunities
• Lead from the front on technical execution while mentoring team members
• Take an active role in the hiring process, conducting engineering interviews
• Support the personal growth of colleagues and encourage efficiency across the team

What We're Looking For

Our client emphasizes that they don't expect candidates to meet all requirements, but would value experience in several of these areas:

• Pride in writing readable, well-designed, well-tested software
• Experience writing web-based applications in any language, with interest in learning Go, Ruby/Rails, Python, Scala, or Rust
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Experience with web architecture at scale (20k+ requests per minute)
• Familiarity with NoSQL data backends including Redis, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch, or Memcache
• Experience solving logistical problems through software solutions
