Software Engineer (all genders)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential digital consultancy based in München, and we're seeking a Software Engineer to join their agile development teams. In this role, you will build reliable, high-performing, and maintainable digital solutions while independently managing defined technical areas.

Your day-to-day work will include:

• Independently implementing complex features, components, interfaces, and technical areas
• Assessing solutions for quality, effort, scalability, security, and maintainability
• Identifying technical risks and dependencies, then developing concrete mitigation strategies
• Enabling stable releases through thorough testing, code reviews, documentation, and clean integration practices
• Communicating technical impacts on timing, scope, quality, and operations clearly to stakeholders
• Improving engineering practices across the organization and supporting junior engineers professionally

What We're Looking For

Our client needs someone with:

• Several years of practical experience in software engineering for digital products and platforms
• Confident working knowledge of clean code principles, testing methodologies, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, performance optimization, security best practices, and maintainable system design
• Ability to independently plan and manage clearly defined areas of responsibility
• Strong assessment skills for evaluating options based on quality, impact, effort, and feasibility
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients, teams, and stakeholders
• A collaborative mindset—willing to share knowledge, mentor junior colleagues, and pragmatically improve ways of working
• Very good command of both German and English
