Business Data Analyst Finance & Requirements Management (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential client in the travel and hospitality sector, and our talent team is seeking a Business Data Analyst for Finance & Requirements Management. This is a part-time position (30 hours per week) based in Berlin.

In this role, you will serve as the critical bridge between business stakeholders, finance teams, and technical implementation teams. Your responsibilities include:

• Receiving, structuring, and evaluating business requirements from finance, controlling, and related departments
• Analyzing business processes, data flows, and use cases with particular focus on accounting-relevant operations, service billing, commission structures, and reporting requirements
• Validating data for plausibility, completeness, consistency, and fitness for purpose
• Developing and documenting business requirements and translating them into actionable technical specifications
• Creating functional concepts, specifications, data logic documentation, mapping documents, acceptance criteria, and test cases
• Coordinating requirements, priorities, and solution approaches between business and technical teams
• Supporting quality assurance efforts and conducting functional validation of implemented solutions and reports
• Maintaining documentation and continuously optimizing processes, requirements, and data structures

What We're Looking For

• Completed degree or vocational training in Business Administration, Finance/Controlling, Business Informatics, Data Analysis, or comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience analyzing commercial, financial, or billing-related data
• Background in business analysis, requirements engineering, or similar interface roles
• Strong understanding of business and financial processes, particularly in billing, reporting, commissions, controlling, or finance
• Ability to systematically gather business requirements, critically assess them, prioritize, and translate into clear implementation specifications
• Excellent analytical skills with solid understanding of data structures, data quality, and functional data modeling
• Experience with BI and reporting solutions; knowledge of SQL, Python, or comparable scripting/programming languages is advantageous
• Strong communication skills and ability to bring together diverse stakeholders
• Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style
• Fluent German and good English language skills
