Snr People Generalist – Freelance

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential visual technology company in their search for a Senior People Generalist on a freelance basis. This is a hands-on, high-impact role supporting a scaling organization through a critical phase of HR infrastructure development.

This is a 3-4 day per week engagement for 6 months, based in Paris with several days per week on-site required. Fluency in both French and English is essential.

Responsibilities

You will work directly with senior leadership to build operational maturity across the people function. This is not a consulting role—you'll be an active team member who builds, implements, and delivers:

• Provide day-to-day operational support on people activities, fielding HR questions and supporting administrative tasks across the team
• Audit and consolidate the HR technology stack, driving tool selection, migration planning, and operational implementation
• Rebuild compensation ranges and bands, including methodology development, benchmarking, and rollout execution
• Structure and operationalize learning and development programs with a focus on meaningful impact
• Document processes and guidelines properly, filling gaps and ensuring scalability across the organization
• Review and strengthen compliance frameworks across France, the US, and broader European operations
• Support employee relations cases with solid grounding in French labour law
• Identify and implement AI and automation opportunities to increase team efficiency

What We're Looking For

Essential requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in People/HR roles with progressive responsibility
• Proven end-to-end project management experience on HR initiatives
• Experience working across companies of 100+ employees in multi-country setups
• Hands-on experience with HRIS selection and/or migration projects
• Strong knowledge of French labour law—this is non-negotiable
• Fluency in both English and French for team collaboration and written deliverables
• Structured, organized, and data-oriented approach to work
• Hands-on mindset with focus on high-quality delivery

Preferred qualifications:

• Direct experience designing compensation structures and leveling frameworks
• Track record structuring HR documentation and processes from the ground up
• Strong opinions on HR tooling and process design, backed by practical experience
• Interest and capability in leveraging AI for HR operations
