SEO Specialist – AI-Enabled SEO (018-1313)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential Australian digital marketing agency that works with businesses across multiple sectors to deliver measurable online performance. Our talent team is currently searching for a senior SEO Specialist based in the Philippines to own search strategy and execution across a diverse client portfolio.

This is a hands-on role for someone who has already managed their own client book and uses AI tools daily to scale high-quality work. You will report directly to leadership in Perth and work within Australian business hours (UTC+8) — no split shifts or overnight work required.

This engagement is structured as an independent contractor agreement, and you will work remotely from the Philippines.

Responsibilities

• Own on-page and technical SEO across a portfolio of approximately 10 to 20 client WordPress sites
• Conduct technical audits and implement fixes: crawl issues, indexation, redirects, site structure, Core Web Vitals, schema markup
• Optimize content and schema for visibility in AI-driven search results, including AI Overviews and large language model citations
• Leverage AI tools to scale research, keyword clustering, content briefs, metadata, audit summaries, and report commentary — with human review before delivery
• Develop and refine repeatable AI workflows that the team can use to deliver consistent, efficient results
• Perform keyword research and create content briefs aligned with commercial intent and client services
• Write and optimize page copy, metadata, and blog content that reads naturally and avoids generic AI output
• Manage Google Business Profile optimization and local SEO for service area businesses
• Build monthly client reports in Looker Studio that explain performance trends and strategic recommendations
• Monitor rankings, traffic, and conversions; proactively flag issues before clients notice
• Conduct migration QA, including pre-launch SEO checks, redirect mapping, and post-launch verification
• Collaborate with developers on implementation and quality assurance
• Bring proactive recommendations to leadership and contribute strategic thinking to client success

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 5+ years of SEO experience, with at least 2 years managing multiple client accounts simultaneously in an agency environment
• Demonstrated daily use of AI tools in real SEO delivery (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar), including custom workflows you have built
• Strong editorial judgment over AI-generated content — able to recognize and rewrite AI output so client deliverables read authentically
• Working understanding of AI search: how AI Overviews and LLM answers select sources, and how to optimize sites for citation
• Genuine technical SEO capability: can read crawl reports, diagnose root causes, and specify fixes
• Strong WordPress experience with Yoast or RankMath, page builders, and plugin-level troubleshooting
• Proficiency with Google Search Console, GA4, and Looker Studio for client-ready reporting
• Daily use of Screaming Frog (or equivalent) and SEMrush or Ahrefs
• Excellent written English for client-facing copy and reports
• Ability to work independently, manage your own priorities, and operate without daily task lists
• Reliable home office setup and stable internet, available 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM AWST (UTC+8)

Nice to Have:

• Experience with automation platforms such as n8n, Make, or Zapier for SEO workflows and reporting
• Custom GPTs, Claude Projects, or personal prompt libraries built for recurring client tasks
• Light scripting in Python or Apps Script for bulk data work and API integration
• HTML and CSS literacy sufficient to diagnose and implement small front-end fixes
• Exposure to Cloudflare, Google Tag Manager, Zaraz, or server-side tagging
• WooCommerce or e-commerce SEO experience
• Google Ads familiarity and understanding of paid/organic overlap
• Experience mentoring or quality-assuring junior SEO work
• Australian market experience or a track record with English-speaking Western clients
