About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential semiconductor client in their search for a Senior or Staff Analog Design Engineer based in Edinburgh, Scotland. This is a hybrid role requiring 2+ days per week in the office, with a team focused on delivering high-performance mixed-signal integrated circuits for audio and power management applications.

We are seeking an accomplished analog design professional with deep expertise in low-power, high-performance IC design using advanced CMOS processes. You will contribute to transformational products from initial specification through production, working within a collaborative engineering environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop advanced mixed-signal solutions across the full product lifecycle: specification, architecture, design, integration, and production support
  • Perform system-level modeling and analysis using MATLAB, Simulink, and Spectre
  • Design and implement high-performance analog and mixed-signal circuits at transistor level
  • Lead design integration efforts, ensuring robust system- and block-level interactions
  • Collaborate closely with layout engineers to oversee layout implementation
  • Execute post-layout simulations and drive optimization for performance, area, and power metrics
  • Conduct hands-on silicon validation, lab evaluation, and debug activities
  • Support post-silicon validation, characterization, and production testing phases
  • Drive continuous improvement through competitive benchmarking and commercial feasibility analysis
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure successful delivery from concept through mass production

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering with relevant industry experience
  • Strong understanding of analog design flows including architecture definition, circuit design, and chip integration
  • Proven expertise in CMOS analog and mixed-signal circuit design for low-power, high-performance applications
  • Solid knowledge of control theory as applied to circuit and system design
  • Strong understanding of inductive and/or capacitive power converters
  • Proficiency with modeling and simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, and LTspice
  • Experience designing across multiple CMOS processes, including advanced technology nodes
  • Good understanding of reliability, device physics, parasitics, and ESD/latch-up protection
  • Practical lab experience with silicon bring-up, testing, and debugging using standard measurement equipment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a structured, detail-oriented approach
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Must be based within commutable distance of Edinburgh or willing to relocate prior to employment
  • Export control restrictions apply: candidates must be able to access technical data without requiring an export license
