About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential mixed-signal semiconductor organization seeking a Senior Analog Design Engineer in Newbury, England. This is a hybrid position requiring 2+ days per week on-site, with in-office scheduling based on business needs and team collaboration.
You'll join a highly collaborative engineering team developing next-generation mixed-signal ICs for consumer, automotive, health, and power management applications. This role offers ownership of complex analog circuitry from concept through production, with opportunities to grow into project and sub-system leadership.
Responsibilities
- Own and develop advanced solutions for complex mixed-signal products and circuitry from concept, architecture, and design through production
- Model solutions using tools such as Matlab, Simulink, Spectre, and AMS Designer
- Perform transistor-level implementation of analog and mixed-signal designs
- Design and verify key building blocks including A/D and D/A converters, LDOs, DC/DC converters, PLLs, oscillators, op-amps, and analog front ends
- Oversee layout implementation and conduct post-layout simulations and optimization
- Execute hands-on lab checkout, silicon learning, and debug activities
- Support post-silicon validation, characterization, and production test
What We're Looking For
Required:
- BSc, MSc, MEng, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field with proven professional experience in mixed-signal CMOS circuit design
- Deep understanding of analog design flows including architecture, design, and design integration
- Strong skills in CMOS analog design and layout of high-precision, low-power circuits
- Hands-on lab test and debug experience with standard lab equipment
- Organized and detail-oriented with strong communication skills
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Results-oriented mindset and ability to thrive in dynamic environments
- Effective operation within high-functioning interdependent teams
Preferred:
- Knowledge of discrete-time and continuous-time signal processing (ADC/DAC design)
- Experience designing low-power, high-performance analog circuits (voltage/current references, oscillators, PLLs, LDOs, DC/DC converters, op-amps, AFEs)
- System and behavioral modeling experience
- Experience with different CMOS processes and advanced geometry nodes
- Understanding of reliability concerns in analog design
- Proficiency with scripting languages such as Tcl, Perl, or Python
Location and Visa: Candidates must be based within commutable distance of Newbury or willing to relocate.
