Senior Software Engineer – In-Store

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS client with a strong presence in the restaurant technology sector. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their In-Store integration team, working remotely from Lithuania or the United Kingdom. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in point-of-sale systems or building robust integrations with external partner platforms.

The In-Store team focuses on building and maintaining integrations with POS partners, ensuring seamless order flow and maintaining critical SLAs and uptime metrics. You'll work alongside a highly experienced engineering team of 8 engineers, supported by dedicated engineering management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and architecture of complex integration systems, influencing technical direction and strategy for the In-Store domain
• Own delivery of large-scale features and projects, coordinating efforts across multiple teams and ensuring alignment with business objectives
• Provide mentorship and technical leadership to engineers at all levels, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and stakeholders to shape requirements and make architectural decisions that balance quality, performance, and delivery timelines
• Implement and maintain high-quality, resilient, and scalable distributed systems with appropriate resilience mechanisms
• Lead troubleshooting and incident management efforts, proactively resolving critical production issues and improving system reliability
• Drive improvements in development practices including CI/CD processes, infrastructure as code optimization, and test automation coverage
• Coordinate cross-team technical initiatives to ensure consistency and integration between services and platforms
• Leverage modern AI coding tools including Claude Code and GitHub Copilot as part of daily workflow
• Participate in on-call rotation to support production systems

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 3+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong experience in the.NET and C# ecosystem, with proven ability to maintain large-scale, complex systems
• Deep understanding of architectural principles and patterns for distributed systems, including microservices and event-driven architecture using Kafka
• Expertise in resilience mechanisms and performance optimization practices to ensure system stability at scale
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes/EKS) and DevOps best practices using CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy, and Terraform
• Demonstrated leadership and cross-team collaboration skills with ability to influence technical efforts across multiple teams
• Experience with POS systems or external partner platform integrations is highly valued
