Principal Solutions Engineer – UKI

Responsibilities

We are representing a leading analytics SaaS company in their search for a Principal Solutions Engineer based in London. In this role, you will serve as the technical quarterback for strategic sales opportunities across the UK market.

Your primary focus will be deal execution, where you'll lead technical evaluation phases for enterprise opportunities. You'll conduct deep discovery sessions to understand prospect workflows, existing technology dependencies, and decision criteria. A significant part of your work involves designing and executing hands-on proof-of-concepts using actual client data to demonstrate measurable value. You'll handle technical objections related to data architecture, privacy compliance, and integration complexity, while presenting to C-level executives and translating technical capabilities into clear ROI narratives.

Internal collaboration is essential to success in this position. You'll partner closely with engineering and product management teams to communicate customer requirements that impact deal velocity. Working alongside Account Executives, you'll provide technical partnership throughout the entire sales cycle. You'll also coordinate with Customer Success teams to ensure smooth technical handoffs during implementation and mentor junior team members on technical positioning and demonstration best practices.

Additionally, you'll contribute to thought leadership initiatives by developing competitive intelligence, creating reusable technical content, and building operational frameworks for the broader solutions engineering organization.

What We're Looking For

• Substantial experience in software pre-sales at a principal or senior level, including roles such as Solutions Engineering, Sales Consulting, or Technical Account Management
• Strong preference for candidates with experience in product analytics, experimentation, or customer data platform domains
• Deep familiarity with enterprise sales methodologies such as MEDDICC or MEDDPICC
• Strong commercial mindset with demonstrated ability to uncover and articulate value for customers
• Comfort discussing nuanced technical concepts including LLMs, agentic software development, data architecture, and APIs/SDKs
• Proven track record of successfully closing technical evaluations in competitive enterprise deals
• Ability to present technical concepts effectively to both engineering teams and business stakeholders in Product and Marketing functions
