(Senior) Software Engineer – Data Integration Focus – Remote (m/f/d)

About This Role

We are representing a fast-growing healthtech client in Germany that is building AI-powered automation solutions for medical practices. They need a talented engineer to focus on data integration architecture and implementation.

This is a remote position working with a well-funded organization that's scaling rapidly across the German healthcare market. You'll be critical to their growth, building the integration layer that connects their AI platform to practice management systems and related healthcare software.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement production-grade integrations with third-party practice management systems, enabling read/write access to schedules, patient data, messaging, and workflow metadata
• Build infrastructure that scales to support hundreds of thousands of individual practice servers
• Engineer reliability into distributed systems: data consistency, idempotency, retry logic, comprehensive error handling, and observability
• Triage and resolve integration failures in production environments, communicate impact to stakeholders, and implement preventive measures
• Define technical standards and architecture patterns for scalable integration development
• Establish pragmatic processes for development, maintenance, and incident response as the integration surface expands

What We're Looking For

Must-Have:

• Strong hands-on programming experience in Python, TypeScript, and/or Rust
• Proven track record building and running software in production environments
• Deep understanding of integration patterns, distributed systems architecture, and failure modes
• Ability to work effectively with inconsistent APIs, incomplete documentation, and unpredictable third-party behavior
• Clear, concise communication skills, especially during incidents and when managing competing priorities
• Enthusiasm for fast-paced startup environments

Nice-to-Have:

• Prior experience with healthcare software or practice management systems
• Familiarity with healthcare workflows, terminology, or data standards such as FHIR
• Fluent German language skills (spoken and written)
• Previous startup or scale-up experience
