Senior Software Developer I – Full Stack

We are representing a confidential digital services organization seeking a Senior Software Developer I - Full Stack to join their growing engineering team. Our client specializes in building modern, accessible digital solutions and has been delivering impactful technology projects for over two decades. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced full-stack engineer who thrives on solving complex technical challenges and mentoring emerging talent.

This position is fully remote within the United States. Candidates must be U.S. Citizens or legal residents eligible for low-level security clearance.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you will:

• Lead technical strategy and collaborate with product and design teams to shape development vision using modern JavaScript frameworks including React, Node.js, and TypeScript
• Build and maintain full-stack applications with responsive front-end interfaces and scalable back-end services
• Design and integrate RESTful APIs, GraphQL endpoints, and emerging AI-assisted features such as LLM-powered workflows and intelligent document processing
• Make critical architectural decisions to keep projects on track and aligned with client objectives
• Mentor junior engineers in modern JavaScript development practices and AI-augmented development tools
• Communicate technical concepts effectively to stakeholders, presenting design documents and system proposals
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, CI/CD pipelines, and responsible AI integration
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues across the full stack while fostering a culture of learning

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of software engineering experience
• 5+ years of professional JavaScript/TypeScript development across the full stack
• Strong experience with React for building modern, responsive front-end applications
• Proficiency with Node.js and server-side frameworks (Express, Fastify, or similar)
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL
• Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex issues
• Proficiency in Git and modern CI/CD workflows
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or legal resident able to work domestically
• Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance

Preferred Skills:

• Prior government contracting experience
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Hands-on experience integrating AI/ML services or LLM APIs into production applications
• Familiarity with AI-related patterns such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) or prompt engineering
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (Docker, Terraform, GitHub Actions)
• Experience with Agile development methodologies
• Familiarity with accessibility standards (Section 508 / WCAG)
