Senior Platform Engineer – ARTESCA

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential storage technology organization seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join their Paris-based platform team. Our client is building a cyber-resilient S3 storage solution that scales from 20TB to petabytes, with a focus on immutable, zero-trust backup infrastructure.

You'll work within a collaborative team of approximately seven engineers with diverse backgrounds spanning production operations, development, security, and product management. The team offers multiple growth paths including feature lead, technical lead, architect, product owner, and team leader roles.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the Kubernetes-based platform, including the OS control plane, workers, add-ons, and deployment solutions across software appliance, hardware appliance, and integrated backup configurations
• Harden security and compliance through CIS benchmarks, SBOM implementation, supply-chain tooling (Dependency-Track/Anchore), and secret management
• Contribute to installer and product workflows including multi-node/HA deployment, state management, pre-checks, and cloud/vendor integrations (AWS, VMware) for guided deployment
• Own upgrades and lifecycle management for Kubernetes versions, Helm charts, operators, and base images to ensure security, deployment simplicity, and high availability
• Write and maintain documentation (operations, installation, solutions) and tests (integration, upgrade, stability)
• Improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, devcontainers, and release automation
• Use AI-assisted engineering tools to explore codebases, generate implementations, and debug systems while maintaining strong ownership of correctness and system behavior

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 5+ years of experience as Sysadmin or DevSecOps engineer
• Expertise with Linux systems and sysadmin troubleshooting, particularly RHEL/Rocky
• Strong networking experience (VLAN, VIP, DNS, Switch configuration L2/L3, Load Balancing)
• Solid experience in security, compliance, and Linux hardening (SELinux, CIS, SBOM, supply-chain integrity)
• DevOps mindset with ability to code and understand production behavior
• Comfortable working across infrastructure, code, and CI layers
• Experience with PXE, ISO building, kickstart, and OVA creation
• Experience with Salt or orchestration tools like Ansible
• Experience deploying distroless or hardened images in Kubernetes (control plane, operators, sidecars, CNI, observability stack)
• Python and Bash proficiency
• CI systems experience
• Advanced Git knowledge
• French language proficiency (team is based in France)
• Good English for cross-team collaboration
