As a Senior Motor Fleet Underwriter, you'll take ownership of a substantial business portfolio, mentor junior colleagues, and drive growth into emerging market segments. You'll work at the intersection of traditional underwriting expertise and cutting-edge AI tools, using technology to streamline risk assessment while applying your seasoned judgment where it matters most.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a large motor fleet underwriting portfolio, contributing significantly to team targets
• Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance brokers across the market
• Leverage AI tools to extract risk data from submissions and accelerate case triage, while maintaining expert oversight on complex decisions
• Provide analytical support and portfolio data to senior underwriting leadership for monitoring and decision-making
• Continuously refine the risk information gathering process to ensure smooth quoting and onboarding for clients and brokers
• Identify opportunities for policy wording and coverage improvements, escalating recommendations to management
• Stay current with motor fleet market trends, emerging mobility solutions, and innovative insurance products
• Train and mentor underwriting and operations team members, promoting underwriting knowledge across the organization
• Support expansion into new market segments as the business scales

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Extensive experience underwriting motor fleet insurance
• Proven track record of building strong, collaborative relationships with insurance brokers
• Ability to collate and analyze portfolio data to support leadership decision-making
• Comfortable using AI in underwriting workflows (e.g., data extraction, risk checking, quote acceleration) while maintaining independent professional judgment
• Continuous improvement mindset for client-facing processes
• Strong awareness of motor fleet market trends and emerging products
• Experience training and developing team members

Preferred:

• Experience working with large corporate fleet clients
• ACII qualified or working toward qualification
• Background collaborating with product teams on roadmap enhancements and customer journey improvements
