Mission Advancement Officer -Midwest

We are representing a confidential Catholic educational organization in their search for a Mission Advancement Officer covering the Midwest region. Our talent team at Get A Job.ai has been retained to identify a fundraising professional who can build meaningful donor relationships and secure major gifts that support faith-based programming and theological education.

This is a full-time, remote position serving donors across Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio. The role requires significant regional travel and occasional evening/weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of 75–150 major donors and prospects with capacity to give $10,000+
• Research, qualify, and cultivate new prospects through personalized outreach and strategic engagement
• Conduct donor meetings (in-person, virtual, and at events) to understand motivations and align giving with organizational priorities
• Create and present tailored gift proposals; actively solicit donations to meet or exceed annual revenue targets
• Track all donor interactions and moves management plans in CRM system (Salesforce or Raiser's Edge NXT)
• Design stewardship plans ensuring timely acknowledgments, impact reporting, and ongoing communication
• Identify opportunities for gift upgrades, renewals, and planned giving
• Contribute to annual fundraising plans, campaign strategies, and case-for-support messaging
• Collaborate with marketing, program staff, leadership, and board members on donor engagement initiatives
• Maintain accurate donor records and provide regular pipeline and performance reports
• Serve as an ambassador for the organization at events and in the Midwest community

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or professional certification preferred
• Proven fundraising success with major gift solicitation experience
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, and ability to develop donor-specific engagement strategies
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to build trust and rapport
• Experience with Salesforce, Raiser's Edge NXT, or similar CRM systems
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently with high discretion
• Comfort working toward metrics and goals in a fast-paced environment
• Solid knowledge of the Catholic faith and Church practices
• Passion for Catholic education and the New Evangelization
• Collaborative mindset with ability to motivate volunteers and work effectively across teams
• Willingness to travel regularly within the Midwest region and work occasional evenings/weekends
• Entrepreneurial, optimistic attitude with persistence and resilience
