About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Senior Lead - Operational Performance & Excellence to join their team in Cardiff on a remote basis. This is a strategic role at the intersection of data, operations, and people development, focused on building performance frameworks that scale across a high-growth technology business.

As the custodian for team and individual performance measurement, you'll translate complex data into actionable insights while partnering across multiple functions to drive operational excellence. This role combines analytical rigor with strategic influence, helping leaders make better decisions through transparent metrics and AI-driven insights.

Responsibilities

• Translate organizational strategy into clear, outcome-led performance tiers that operational leaders can readily apply across their teams
• Analyze operational data to identify bottlenecks, eliminate structural inefficiencies, and prioritize high-impact improvements
• Build and maintain transparent performance measurement frameworks that empower teams to make informed daily decisions
• Partner with People and communications teams to ensure operational expectations remain aligned and framework updates are clearly communicated
• Collaborate with learning and development partners to design coaching and training programs that directly address performance gaps
• Map performance data to skill requirements to inform targeted training initiatives and long-term workforce planning
• Work with Technology and Data teams to build accessible AI tools and predictive analytics that accelerate decision-making while maintaining clarity
• Serve as the trusted authority on operational performance standards, balancing global consistency with domain-specific needs
• Drive strategic influence across Data, People, and Operations functions by translating complex insights into clear business outcomes
• Continuously refine processes and quality standards to maximize organizational impact

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in operational excellence, business intelligence, or performance management within a high-growth, technology-first environment
• Strong analytical capabilities with comfort working with complex datasets; ability to partner effectively with Data teams
• SQL proficiency for self-service analysis is desirable
• Genuine interest in leveraging AI and advanced analytics to unlock performance insights
• Excellent relationship-building skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate across People, Technology, and business functions
• Comfort navigating ambiguity and driving work independently as a senior contributor
• Ability to constructively challenge senior stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes
• Continuous improvement mindset with a track record of solving complex, structural problems
• Experience building scalable frameworks and performance management systems
• Background working with operational teams in a customer-facing or service delivery environment is highly valued
