Senior Lead Consultant – Verteidigung & Resilienz (all genders)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential digital consulting organization seeking a Senior Lead Consultant for Defense & Resilience based in München. In this role, you will advise clients in the defense and security sector, bridging military and governmental requirements with modern IT and digital transformation initiatives. You will develop resilient strategies, target architectures, and concrete solutions—from analyzing complex challenges through to implementation.

This position requires moving confidently between technical, organizational, and domain expertise, translating complex technological concepts into tangible military and governmental value. You will collaborate with clients, interdisciplinary teams, and partners while actively shaping the evolution of defense and resilience service offerings.

Responsibilities

• Advise private and public clients in the defense and security environment on the development and implementation of highly secure digitalization and transformation initiatives
• Analyze complex domain-specific, organizational, and technological challenges and develop robust solution approaches and target architectures
• Translate military capabilities, operational requirements, and strategic objectives into concrete digital solutions and technological architectures
• Develop strategies, roadmaps, and concepts for digitizing security-relevant processes and structures in collaboration with clients
• Accompany projects from strategic conception through detailed design to implementation, ensuring concrete client value
• Facilitate workshops with diverse stakeholders, bringing together domain, technological, and strategic perspectives
• Collaborate closely with development, architecture, and delivery experts, taking responsibility for the quality of deliverables
• Monitor technological and security policy developments and derive relevant insights for clients and service portfolio evolution

What We're Looking For

• Several years of experience in consulting, designing, or managing complex digitalization and IT projects—ideally in defense, security, or governmental environments
• Strong understanding of military capability logic and capacity-oriented planning, with the ability to derive requirements for modern digital solutions
• Good grasp of digitizing command and operational processes, including command information systems and their integration into existing system landscapes
• Knowledge of relevant technologies and solution approaches in cybersecurity, resilience, cloud and platform solutions, secure communication, and networks
• Understanding of use cases for drones, sensors, unmanned systems, artificial intelligence, and data spaces in military and governmental contexts
• Ability to translate technological developments and complex IT services into concrete military or governmental requirements, application scenarios, and value propositions
• Confident presence in client workshops, at management level, and in interdisciplinary teams, with the ability to present complex topics appropriately for different audiences
• High initiative, strategic thinking, and willingness to take responsibility for topics, clients, and consulting portfolio development
• Willingness to travel within Germany and Europe as client engagements require
• Advantageous: background through service in armed forces or close professional contact with military organizations
• Advantageous: familiarity with classified information handling, security clearances, or comparable work in regulated environments
• Excellent German and English language skills, written and spoken
