Senior IT & OT Systems Specialist (gn)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential manufacturing organization with international production facilities, and we're seeking a Senior IT & OT Systems Specialist to drive the digital transformation of complex production environments.

In this role, you will:

• Serve as the central interface between production operations, operational technology (OT), and IT systems
• Maintain and continuously develop Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and production-adjacent applications along with their peripherals
• Analyze new requirements from production facilities and implement solutions in collaboration with internal and external partners
• Perform customizing and optimization of production-critical systems
• Develop concepts for a secure and future-proof OT landscape together with the security team
• Plan, coordinate, and implement new systems as well as technical changes within the production environment
• Identify opportunities for standardization, digitalization, and automation across international production processes
• Manage external service providers and ensure sustainable documentation of the systems landscape

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or comparable qualification with relevant professional experience
• Several years of experience working with production IT, OT, or industrial system environments
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, production systems, and modern Industry 4.0 concepts
• Ideally, hands-on experience with MES systems, OPC UA, or comparable industrial interfaces
• Ability to bridge technical and business requirements effectively
• Structured, solution-oriented, and independently driven work approach
• Excellent German and English language skills for collaboration in an international setting
• Willingness to undertake occasional international travel

Pay

Compensation details will be discussed during the screening process and are competitive with the Hamburg market for senior-level IT/OT specialists.
