Senior IT Security Administrator (gn)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential insurance services organization in Northern Germany seeking a Senior IT Security Administrator to join their team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will take on both operational and strategic responsibilities in IT security while actively shaping the organization's security architecture.

Your core responsibilities will include:

• Operating and advancing security solutions, conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
• Managing identities, permissions, and access concepts (IAM/PAM)
• Monitoring and securing cloud environments (such as Microsoft Azure) and hybrid infrastructures
• Developing and maintaining an enterprise-wide IT security strategy and roadmap
• Creating and updating security concepts, policies, and standards (including ISMS according to ISO 27001)
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (such as DORA, GDPR, NIS2)

What We're Looking For

• Completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or comparable qualification with relevant professional experience
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in IT security/cybersecurity, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead function
• Strong expertise in network security, endpoint security, cloud security, IAM/PAM, SIEM, and vulnerability management
• Proven experience with security frameworks such as ISO 27001 or BSI IT-Grundschutz
• Knowledge of current threat landscapes, attack vectors, and countermeasures
• Excellent German language skills for complex technical discussions
• Location: Hamburg with hybrid work options (up to 4 days remote per week)
