Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential medical technology organization based in Germany. In this senior electrical engineering role, you will lead the development, implementation, and testing of electrical components for advanced medical products. Your work will focus on power and control electronic boards, electrical circuit design, and safety concepts that meet rigorous regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and implementing power and control electronic boards for complex medical devices
- Creating electrical circuit and wiring diagrams
- Developing electrical safety concepts to ensure product functional safety
- Collecting technical requirements and creating component and system specifications
- Producing quality-related documentation including risk analyses, DFMEA, and verification reports in compliance with international standards (CE, FDA, MHLW)
- Performing verification tests on electrical components and products
- Supporting troubleshooting of electrical issues in production environments
- Coordinating with third-party suppliers and contractors
- Monitoring technological trends in electronics and competitive technologies
- Representing engineering in project team meetings and assisting with planning engineering tasks
What We're Looking For
Our client seeks a senior-level electrical engineer with deep expertise in medical device development. The ideal candidate will bring:
- Master's degree in electrical engineering or related science/engineering discipline
- Minimum 7 years of experience developing electrical devices, preferably medical systems
- Advanced knowledge of power, digital, analog, and microprocessor electronics
- Proven experience designing and developing power and digital electronic boards
- In-depth understanding of EMI/EMC design principles and electrical safety requirements
- Experience creating electrical schematics and circuit diagrams
- Familiarity with PC-controlled systems and design transfer to production
- Knowledge of requirements and systems engineering
- Strong understanding of ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR 820.30, IEC 14971, IEC 62366, IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2, and related standards
- Proficiency with Altium, Eagle, OrCAD PSpice, or similar design tools; MATLAB experience beneficial
- Familiarity with requirement management tools such as DOORS, Polarion, or CodeBeamer
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Infor SyteLine
- Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to work independently
- Strong analytical skills and team collaboration abilities
- Fluency in German and English required for this Wessling-based position
