About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential nonprofit organization based in Bonn seeking a Senior Controller / Business Analyst to shape the future of financial controlling through modern analytics, business intelligence, predictive analytics, and AI solutions. This role combines strategic financial partnership with cutting-edge data analysis to drive organizational decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Act as strategic partner to business units, advising on budgets, ongoing expenditures, and forecasts while identifying critical financial developments and challenges
• Evaluate relevant KPIs alongside business units, conduct in-depth analyses as needed, and advise on appropriate action measures
• Support business units in creating cost-benefit analyses and business cases, critically evaluating planned initiatives from an economic perspective
• Conduct ad-hoc analyses to assess current business developments and anomalies, presenting insights in stakeholder-appropriate formats
• Develop new reports and dashboards to ensure transparent tracking of relevant developments, regularly reviewing and continuously improving existing metrics and reporting tools
• Create analysis tools enabling user-friendly and efficient data work, including self-service solutions, dashboards, and data models leveraging AI technologies
• Support annual budget creation and associated coordination and approval processes
• Serve as central point of contact for financial accounting colleagues
• Monitor current developments and trends in data analysis, business intelligence, predictive analytics, and AI, contributing to the evolution of controlling practices

What We're Looking For

• Completed university degree or comparable qualification
• Several years of relevant professional experience in controlling, business analytics, business intelligence, or data analysis
• Experience designing and implementing complex analysis, reporting, and management solutions
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and business administration skills with high methodological and problem-solving competence
• Independent, structured working style with enthusiasm for taking responsibility and advising business units
• Confident presence, strong communication skills, and ability to convince diverse stakeholders
• Experience working with KPIs, dashboards, business cases, and modern analytics and BI tools
• Proactive engagement with current developments and trends in data analysis, business intelligence, and AI
• German language proficiency required for this Bonn-based position
