Data Engineer Junior – Schwerpunkt Datenpipelines (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential nonprofit organization seeking a Junior Data Engineer to join their analytics team in Bonn. In this role, you will:

• Develop modern data products that support reporting, analytics, and data-driven decision-making
• Support the provisioning of curated data for analyses, reporting, and data-driven applications
• Build and maintain data pipelines and data processing workflows to deliver high-quality data
• Participate in data quality checks and assist with analyzing and resolving data issues
• Document data flows, interfaces, and technical relationships in a clear and understandable manner
• Collaborate closely with analysts, data scientists, architecture teams, development teams, and business units
• Support the implementation of standards for data quality, governance, and data reusability

What We're Looking For

Our client is seeking candidates with the following qualifications:

• Completed degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Business Informatics, or a comparable field
• Initial practical experience in data engineering through professional work, studies, internships, or personal projects
• Strong SQL skills and foundational experience with Python for data processing and analysis
• Interest in data modeling and modern data platforms, ideally with some hands-on experience
• Initial experience with data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, or comparable data integration tasks
• Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, or comparable cloud and data platforms is desirable
• Experience with Git or other version control systems is advantageous
• Structured, careful, and solution-oriented working style
• Enthusiasm for analyzing technical questions and developing solutions collaboratively within a team
• Commitment to clear documentation of work results
• Strong collaboration skills across business and technical teams with open and reliable communication
• Interest in continuous development in data engineering, analytics, and modern data platforms
• German language proficiency required for this position in Bonn
