About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential nonprofit organization in Bonn seeking a working student to support their information security team. In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience with audits, security processes, and IT security projects while contributing to meaningful work in a supportive environment.

This is a part-time working student position (15-20 hours per week) with flexible scheduling that accommodates your studies. The role includes hybrid work options and runs through the end of December.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and coordination of audits, information security forums, and emergency response exercises
• Assist in maintaining and updating security processes, guidelines, and documentation in clear, accessible language
• Contribute to projects involving AI in IT security, Zero Trust architectures, and cloud security—from research through prototyping
• Help develop understanding of Information Security Management System (ISMS) operations and key influence factors
• Review and process central security information as part of continuous improvement initiatives
• Support updates to emergency plans, security policies, and operational handbooks

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in computer science, business informatics, or a related field
• Foundational knowledge of networks and operating systems
• Interest in ISO 27001 standards and information security management systems
• Initial exposure to data protection and information security regulations (preferred)
• Excellent communication skills in German and strong team collaboration abilities
• Self-motivated with eagerness to learn
• Available 15-20 hours per week with flexible scheduling
