About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential travel media organization seeking a Senior Editor to join their digital editorial team. This role is fully remote but must be based in New York.

Our client produces high-quality travel content across multiple platforms and is looking for an experienced editor who can thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You'll be responsible for top editing a variety of digital travel content—from inspirational features to quick intel pieces—while coordinating with other editors and reporting to the editorial director.

Responsibilities

• Line edit and top edit several stories daily across various content formats
• Write compelling headlines and display copy
• Package stories effectively for digital audiences
• Develop story ideas and assign articles to freelance contributors
• Build and maintain relationships with freelance writers from diverse backgrounds
• Write and update articles as needed
• Organize and develop content calendars
• Attend industry events and meetings
• Write newsletters and contribute to social video projects including scriptwriting and footage capture

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on text editing experience
• 5-7 years as a senior editor at a media company in a deadline-driven environment
• Sharp line editing, story shaping, and packaging skills
• Reporting experience and knowledge of fact-checking best practices
• Meticulous attention to detail and grammar
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
• Strong writing skills with the ability to produce clear, engaging copy
• Agility across storytelling formats—longform features, news items, roundups, destination pieces
• Excellent communication skills for remote collaboration with staff and freelancers
• Experience assigning and commissioning articles
• CMS experience required
• Newsletter writing experience
• Video scriptwriting and social content experience
• Passion for travel and innovative travel storytelling
