About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their collaborative engineering team. This is a remote position with optional access to an office in Düsseldorf. You'll work at the intersection of development, operations, and architecture, helping to shape cloud platforms and solve complex technical challenges while mentoring team members and raising engineering standards.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to architectural decisions and make pragmatic trade-offs across reliability, scalability, security, and cost
- Design, build, and operate secure, scalable, and maintainable cloud platforms and services
- Improve automation, infrastructure, deployment processes, observability, and operational efficiency
- Work with distributed software, event-driven architectures, and event streaming technologies
- Break complex initiatives into smaller workstreams and deliver value incrementally
- Investigate recurring issues and create lasting solutions rather than temporary fixes
- Share knowledge, mentor less experienced engineers, and promote collaboration and shared responsibility across teams
- Lead technical initiatives and own meaningful technical decisions that impact platform reliability and team velocity
What We're Looking For
- Several years of professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, SRE, or a related field
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-native infrastructure
- Professional experience with Go (Golang), ideally for automation, platform tooling, or backend services
- Understanding of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and event streaming
- Experience with automation, infrastructure as code, continuous delivery, observability, security, and reliability practices
- Ability to make sound architectural decisions and explain technical trade-offs clearly
- Track record of leading technical initiatives and delivering complex work incrementally
- Strong collaboration skills with a passion for mentoring and supporting colleague growth
- Ownership mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and long-term solutions
