Senior Controller (f/m/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential luxury e-commerce client in Karlsruhe seeking a Senior Controller to drive financial steering and strategic decision-making. This is a chance to shape controlling structures in a fast-growing international marketplace environment, working directly with senior leadership on integrated planning, cost transparency, and data-driven insights.

Responsibilities

• Translate operational KPI developments into P&L, EBITDA, and cash impact; prepare executive and board materials with detailed commentary
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and rolling forecast processes; steer budgets with business units and develop driver-based financial models
• Create transparency around OPEX, payment costs, regional contribution margin, and profitability analyses
• Support monthly and quarterly close from a controlling perspective; comment on cost and earnings trends and enhance management reporting
• Drive integration of financials into the data landscape; automate manual processes and develop AI-supported analysis workflows
• Ensure consistent financial logic across segments, P&L structure, and forecast logic in alignment with BI and Accounting teams

What We're Looking For

• At least 5 years of experience in Controlling or FP&A, ideally within a digital marketplace or e-commerce environment
• Strong controlling expertise including cost and P&L controlling, reporting and variance analysis, planning, forecasting, and scenario analysis
• Ability to translate complex financial relationships into clear, actionable recommendations and communicate them effectively
• Experience with ERP/consolidation systems (e.g., LucaNet, DATEV), BI tools (Qlik, Tableau or similar), and planning tools (Pigment, Board or similar)
• Self-starter mentality with structured working style and enthusiasm for developing processes and structures
• Very good English skills; German is a plus
