About the Role

The Senior Building and Grounds Specialist-Grounds Maintenance oversees the preservation, development, and ongoing care of University of Tennessee Health Science Center properties across a designated geographical region. You'll manage landscape maintenance operations, ensure campus grounds meet our high standards, and maintain both on-campus and off-campus facilities in excellent condition. This role reports to a supervisor and is essential to creating a welcoming, well-maintained campus environment for students, staff, faculty, and visitors.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee landscape maintenance activities throughout assigned areas, including grounds preparation, planting, pruning, and seasonal care
  • Develop and implement strategies to preserve and enhance campus property appearance and functionality
  • Manage maintenance of both on-campus and off-campus University of Tennessee facilities
  • Inspect grounds regularly to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and improvement opportunities
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure grounds projects support institutional priorities
  • Maintain records and report on grounds maintenance activities
