REXEL is hiring a Senior Automation Product Specialist – Power Specialist (VFD, MCC, Gear) in Tampa, FL. In this full-time position, you'll leverage deep technical expertise in power automation solutions to drive strategic sales growth and deliver value to customers across industrial and commercial markets.
About the Role
As Senior Automation Product Specialist focused on power systems, you'll serve as a technical advisor and sales leader for variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor control centers (MCCs), and industrial gearing solutions. Working from our Tampa location, you'll partner with OEMs, contractors, and end-users to identify automation opportunities, recommend engineered solutions, and build long-term customer relationships. This role combines hands-on product expertise with consultative selling—positioning you as the go-to resource for customers navigating complex power automation projects.
Core Duties
- Develop and execute targeted sales strategies for VFD, MCC, and gearing product lines, identifying and qualifying key accounts
- Provide technical consultation on power automation applications, system design, and equipment selection to engineers and end-users
- Build and cultivate strategic relationships with key customers, integrators, and industry partners in the Tampa region and beyond
- Create technical proposals, feasibility analyses, and presentations demonstrating product benefits and competitive advantages
- Collaborate with internal teams on product training, delivery, and customer support to ensure successful project outcomes
- Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging power automation technologies to inform strategy and positioning
Skills & Qualifications
- Demonstrated sales success in industrial electrical products, power distribution, or automation equipment markets
- Strong technical knowledge of variable frequency drives, motor control centers, industrial gearing, and motor systems
- Solid understanding of electrical distribution principles, power quality, and industrial energy efficiency
- Excellent technical communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences
- Proven ability to manage enterprise accounts and close significant sales in industrial or electrical distribution channels
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, business, or related field, or equivalent professional sales experience
- Proficiency with CRM and sales analytics platforms; strong forecasting and pipeline management capabilities
