Security Operations Engineer II (Employer of Record)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential financial services organization seeking a Security Operations Engineer II to join their globally distributed security team. This is a full-time position based in India, engaged through an Employer of Record arrangement. You will work as an integrated member of the client's security operations center, partnering closely with colleagues in the U.S. to design, build, and scale solutions that protect critical systems and data.

In this role, you will operate enterprise security tools, build automation to streamline detection and response, and help maintain a 24/7 security posture. You'll analyze threats, tune detection rules, manage proxy and filtering policies, and support vulnerability management alongside senior security engineers.

Responsibilities

• Operate and tune enterprise security tools including EDR, SIEM/SOAR, WAF/proxy, and email security platforms
• Manage proxy filtering policies, SSL inspection, exceptions, and performance troubleshooting
• Build automation and playbooks using Python, PowerShell, SOAR platforms, and APIs to reduce manual toil
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code workflows for auditable security configuration changes
• Author and tune detection rules to improve signal quality and reduce false positives
• Maintain health dashboards, uptime/coverage metrics, and change governance documentation
• Conduct knowledge transfers through runbooks, how-to guides, tabletop exercises, and training sessions
• Administer URL/category policies, identity-aware policies, geo/risk-based controls, and SSL inspection
• Analyze block events for false positives, measure impact, and retire exceptions on schedule
• Provide on-call support for tooling availability and data ingestion/normalization issues
• Monitor and respond to alerts as part of the ongoing 24/7 Security Operations Center
• Detect, analyze, and respond to incidents; coordinate containment, eradication, and recovery efforts
• Participate in on-call rotations, including nights, weekends, and holidays

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC detection, threat analytics, SIEM, IT operations, incident response, network security, or security engineering
• Experience administering, deploying, and managing security tools
• Experience operating WAF/proxy and SIEM/SOAR platforms
• Scripting proficiency in Python and/or PowerShell; ability to build API integrations
• Proficiency with JSON/YAML formats
• Experience with CI/CD and Git workflows; Infrastructure-as-Code for security configurations
• Understanding of TLS/SSL, HTTP, identity-aware policies, and egress/ingress routing
• Documentation discipline and change management fundamentals (ITIL basics)
• Experience with Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) or IDS/IPS monitoring tools
• Understanding of MITRE ATT&CK Framework and Cyber Kill Chain
• Understanding of incident response processes and risk management
• Ability to regularly overlap with U.S. business hours to support collaboration

Preferred:

• Active certifications: GSEC, GCIA/GCED, GCDA, AZ-500, SC-200/SC-100, Network+, or CCNA
• Experience with Web Application Firewall rulesets
• Detection engineering experience (KQL/SPL), log pipelines, and data normalization
• Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture and ZTNA posture policies
• Knowledge of breach methodologies, advanced attack methodologies, and living-off-the-land techniques
• Understanding of CVEs, cyber threats, and vulnerability mitigation strategies

This role is engaged through an Employer of Record (EoR) partner in India. You will be legally employed by the EoR partner and receive locally compliant payroll, benefits, and statutory coverage. Day-to-day work, responsibilities, and performance expectations align with the client's global team standards.

Pay

CTC Range (total compensation): ₹24,21,038 – ₹35,50,856. Final CTC will be shared during the offer stage and will include all compensation components in detail as per the EoR vendor's structure. Final compensation within the range is influenced by role-specific skills, depth of experience, industry background, and relevant certifications.
