Secondary Area 2 School_Parent Liaison, TI – Part A (Stone Mountain HS) 2026-2027

DeKalb County School District is hiring a full-time Secondary Area 2 School–Parent Liaison (Title I, Part A) for Stone Mountain High School in Stone Mountain, Georgia, for the 2026–2027 school year.

About the Role

This position serves as the critical bridge between Stone Mountain High School and the families it serves. Funded through Title I, Part A federal dollars, the School–Parent Liaison works to remove barriers to family engagement, strengthen communication between home and school, and support the district's academic improvement goals for students in high-need communities. This is a one-year appointment running through no later than June 30, 2027; continued employment beyond that date requires the selected candidate to apply and be recommended for an available position.

What You'll Do

• Develop and sustain trusting, ongoing relationships between Stone Mountain High School staff and student families
• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate parent engagement workshops, informational sessions, and school events aligned with Title I, Part A requirements
• Serve as a resource navigator, connecting families with school-based services and community support organizations
• Communicate proactively with parents and guardians about student progress, school policies, and available programs
• Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, parent contacts, and engagement outcomes to satisfy Title I compliance documentation
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to align family engagement strategies with campus improvement plans
• Conduct community and home outreach to re-engage families who are hard to reach through conventional school channels
• Support interpretation and translation needs to ensure equitable communication with non-English-speaking families

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience working with diverse families and youth in an educational or community-service setting
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to build rapport across cultural and linguistic backgrounds
• Familiarity with Title I programs, parent involvement mandates, or federal education initiatives preferred
• Proficiency in standard office and communication technology
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment
• Bilingual or multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply
• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in education, social work, or a related field is a plus
