About This Position

As the SC Capital Project Specialist, you will manage all phases of gas infrastructure capital projects for Xcelenergy in the Minneapolis area. This position is essential to delivering reliable gas service, requiring expertise in capital project oversight, asset management, and stakeholder coordination. You'll balance technical requirements with budget constraints while maintaining the highest standards of safety and regulatory adherence.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Direct engineering, procurement, and construction activities for gas system capital projects
• Track project progress, manage timelines, and monitor budget expenditures
• Maintain fixed asset records and capital project documentation with precision
• Coordinate across engineering, operations, procurement, and financial teams
• Verify compliance with utility regulations, safety standards, and company policies
• Report project status and identify risks to leadership and stakeholders
• Support asset valuation and capital accounting processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, business, or related discipline
• 3+ years managing capital projects in utility, energy, or infrastructure industries
• Working knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction project delivery
• Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Demonstrated capability managing complex initiatives across multiple departments
• Familiarity with utility industry standards and regulatory frameworks preferred
