Residential Youth Worker – 2nd Shift

Join St Joseph Catholic Orphans Society as a Residential Youth Worker for our 2nd shift team in Mockingbird Valley, Jefferson County. This part-time position offers meaningful work supporting children in care through direct therapeutic engagement and evidence-based program implementation.

Role Overview

As a Residential Youth Worker, you'll create and maintain a therapeutic, supportive environment where children in our care can thrive. You'll work the 2nd shift under the guidance of the Residential Staff Supervisor, implementing structured programming while responding to each child's developmental and emotional needs with consistency, compassion, and professionalism. Your presence directly shapes the daily experiences and wellbeing of the young people in our community.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on therapeutic care by fostering a safe, structured, and nurturing living environment
• Implement evidence-based child care programming and therapeutic activities aligned with treatment goals
• Monitor and respond promptly to children's physical health, emotional wellbeing, and behavioral needs
• Model positive, supportive interaction and set clear, fair expectations within the residential setting
• Maintain thorough documentation and communicate observations with the Residential Staff Supervisor and clinical team
• Support daily routines including meals, activities, and evening programs during the 2nd shift
• Uphold child safety protocols and mandatory reporting requirements

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or related field preferred
• Demonstrated commitment to working with children and youth in residential or therapeutic settings
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to remain calm, objective, and professional in dynamic situations
• Ability to communicate respectfully with colleagues, supervisors, and families
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Willingness to complete background screening and required certifications
