Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential AI organization seeking a Research Platform Engineer to join their expanding technical infrastructure team in Paris. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of cutting-edge research and platform engineering, building systems that enable teams working on advanced machine learning challenges.

We're looking for an experienced platform engineer who thrives on creating reliable, scalable infrastructure for research teams. You'll design cloud-agnostic platforms that improve stability and velocity across research operations, working directly with researchers to understand their workflows and optimize their development environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex systems with a focus on reliability, reproducibility, and speed for research workflows
• Build flexible, accessible development environments that allow researchers to focus on core technical challenges
• Design and implement solutions for large-scale data management and maintainable data pipelines
• Optimize build processes including container images, library compilation times, and Python environments
• Build strong collaborative relationships with research teams, understanding their workflows and enabling productivity through platform expertise
• Create documentation and communication materials to help teams maximize platform capabilities
• Continuously improve the developer experience while anticipating and preventing future infrastructure roadblocks

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in DX, DevOps, or SRE roles
• Strong software development skills in Python, Go, or similar languages with solid programming best practices
• Experience with site reliability engineering including root cause analysis, production troubleshooting, and on-call rotations
• Solid infrastructure management background: CI/CD, containerization, orchestration, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, logging, and observability
• Technical product mindset with ability to debug adoption challenges and drive platform usage
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, particularly in contextualizing risks and securing buy-in for high-impact solutions
• Ownership mentality with high agency and commitment to continuous improvement
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach

Bonus qualifications:

• Experience with Bazel or equivalent build systems
• Deep knowledge of Python ecosystem
• Familiarity with GPU-based workloads and related infrastructure
• Experience supporting fully remote, globally distributed teams

Location: Paris (hybrid work arrangement). Remote candidates in France or UK may be considered with monthly office visits required. First week onboarding will be in-person at the Paris office.
