What This Role Involves

As Purchasing Supervisor at The Westin St. John Resort Villas, you'll oversee the end-to-end procurement process for a sophisticated hospitality operation. You'll work to ensure the resort maintains the highest standards of service by securing quality goods and services at competitive prices, managing relationships with key vendors, and maintaining compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures. Your leadership will extend to supervising purchasing staff and coordinating with departments across the resort to meet their supply needs.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the purchasing team to meet daily procurement objectives
• Generate and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with resort requirements
• Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate pricing and contract terms
• Monitor inventory levels and implement cost-control measures to optimize spending
• Maintain detailed purchasing records and generate reports for management review
• Communicate with department heads to understand supply needs and timeline requirements
• Address discrepancies, process returns, and resolve vendor-related issues

Qualifications

• Several years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience
• Demonstrated supervisory or team leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of purchasing processes and vendor management
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with purchasing software and Microsoft Office applications
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
