Project Manager (Software Development) – Remote, Latin America

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential software consultancy that serves clients across the United States and Latin America. Our talent team is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their remote team and lead software development initiatives for high-profile client engagements.

This is a fully remote position based in Guatemala, ideal for a seasoned project professional who excels at managing complex software projects with firm deadlines, multiple stakeholders, and distributed engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage software development projects from inception through delivery, ensuring milestones are met on time and within budget
• Deliver against fixed, immovable external deadlines using critical-path planning and buffer management techniques
• Maintain and manage client dependency registers with required-by dates, owners, and escalation protocols
• Implement and oversee formal risk registers and change-control processes
• Coordinate project scope, budget, resourcing, and timelines across multiple concurrent workstreams
• Manage third-party vendor dependencies including contracts, credentials, and integration timelines
• Run Agile/Scrum or Kanban teams, facilitating ceremonies and removing impediments
• Create and manage milestone/gate-based acceptance criteria and deliver client-facing status reports
• Translate technical concepts for non-technical clients and executives
• Identify, track, and mitigate project risks and dependencies proactively
• Coordinate with distributed engineering teams to ensure seamless delivery

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional experience managing software development projects
• Proven track record delivering against fixed external deadlines (product launches, trade shows, etc.)
• Experience managing client dependency registers and risk registers
• Demonstrated experience with formal change-control processes
• Experience managing project scope, budget, resourcing, and timelines across multiple workstreams
• Experience coordinating third-party vendor dependencies
• Hands-on experience running Agile/Scrum or Kanban teams
• Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira, Asana, or similar platforms
• Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Substantial background working with large, complex systems and distributed teams
• Ability to overlap with US business hours
• Bachelor's degree required
• Extreme ownership and accountability for deliverables
• Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities
• Meticulous attention to detail with a positive, can-do attitude

Preferred Qualifications:

• PMP, CSM, or PSM certification
• Experience on projects with regulatory or compliance requirements
• Experience with nearshore US-LATAM delivery teams
