AI Product Engineer (w/m/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential B2B SaaS organization based in Bielefeld that is building AI-powered solutions for the skilled trades sector. As an AI Product Engineer, you will own features end-to-end rather than simply processing tickets.

• Understand customer problems through direct interaction with business teams, support, and end users, then translate requirements into technical specifications
• Build, review, test, and deploy features using AI agent workflows and harnesses
• Measure results and iterate on solutions rather than moving immediately to the next task
• Develop chat interfaces, knowledge management features, and coordinate web and native app experiences
• Integrate with third-party business software, Microsoft 365, and other external systems
• Evaluate and implement appropriate tools and APIs to solve specific problems
• Critically review AI-generated code for architecture quality, security, and edge cases
• Build testing, evaluation, and monitoring directly into features from the start
• Continuously improve agent tooling, skills, and specifications to accelerate future development

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Strong foundation in TypeScript/Node.js and PostgreSQL; Nest.js experience is a plus
• Ability to read and understand code quickly and identify issues in AI-generated output
• Current hands-on experience working with AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, or similar tools)—not just autocomplete
• Skill in understanding customer needs directly rather than waiting for polished specifications
• Ownership mindset: features are complete only when they're running successfully for customers
• Professional fluency in German (written and spoken)

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Kotlin or Swift
• Background in LLM integration, context engineering, or building evaluation systems
• Prior work in B2B SaaS, skilled trades, or construction sectors

This is a hybrid role requiring regular weekly presence at the client's office in Bielefeld's historic district.
