About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential cloud infrastructure organization that specializes in managing powerful open-source distributed systems at global scale. Our client operates platforms running applications like Cassandra, Kafka, PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, and similar technologies across both on-premises data centers and cloud environments.

This Senior Software Engineer position is based in Bangalore, Karnataka, India, and offers the opportunity to work on critical infrastructure that provisions and maintains thousands of distributed application servers worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Work within a development team of 3-8 engineers to build, maintain, and enhance an open-source application platform that manages the complete lifecycle—from provisioning infrastructure and installing applications to ensuring reliable production operations
• Take end-to-end ownership of the development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment to production environments
• Lead the design and implementation of complex development initiatives
• Mentor junior engineers within your team, helping develop their technical skills
• Collaborate with other development teams, operations teams, and product managers to solve complex technical challenges
• Apply DevOps best practices as part of a global team operating 24x7

What We're Looking For

• 8 or more years of commercial experience regularly delivering quality software and overcoming technical challenges
• Demonstrated experience delivering complex technical solutions
• Proficiency in Java, SQL, and at least one other modern programming language—with openness to learning more
• Strong experience with cloud platforms and distributed systems
• Strong communication skills and a humble, collaborative nature—essential for working harmoniously with multiple teams
• A curious mindset with keen interest in how your work positively impacts customers
• Eagerness to tackle new challenges and continuously grow your and your team's software engineering skills
• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, Master's degree, PhD, or equivalent experience
