Project Manager – Dredging West Coast

The Dutra Group is seeking a Project Manager – Dredging West Coast to lead operations and drive business growth from our San Rafael, Marin County headquarters. This full-time role combines hands-on project leadership with strategic responsibility for a dynamic marine construction portfolio serving the West Coast market.

Position Summary

As Project Manager for dredging operations, you'll direct all aspects of assigned projects while identifying and developing new business opportunities across our geographic service area. You'll oversee on-site teams, manage resources, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. Your leadership will directly impact client satisfaction, team performance, and company growth.

Your Responsibilities

• Organize and direct field crews across project assignments; manage staffing, scheduling, and team coordination
• Procure, outfit, and maintain specialized equipment needed for dredging and marine construction operations
• Develop detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plans; track performance against established metrics
• Oversee safety compliance, regulatory adherence, and quality standards on all project activities
• Serve as primary point of contact with clients; manage communication, expectations, and project scope
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities that align with company capabilities and growth strategy

Who We're Looking For

• Proven project management experience, preferably in dredging, marine construction, or heavy civil infrastructure
• Strong leadership and crew management skills; ability to inspire and develop teams
• Solid understanding of equipment operations, maintenance, and logistics
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, timelines, and stakeholder relationships
• Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance in marine/construction environments
