Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential consumer products organization in Düsseldorf seeking a talented Product Developer to join their team.

In this role, you will:

• Analyze market opportunities, industry trends, and customer needs to develop innovative product concepts for textile goods
• Guide the complete product development process from initial concept through production readiness, creating technical specifications, optimizing patterns and size charts, and developing solutions for high-quality, durable, and safe manufacturing
• Coordinate development and sampling of new products, evaluate prototypes, and derive improvements regarding function, quality, fit, and user experience
• Collaborate closely with international suppliers, align technical requirements, and support implementation of new product concepts through to production
• Ensure products meet the highest quality and safety standards by developing testing concepts and supporting internal and external quality and safety audits
• Analyze legal and regulatory requirements, evaluate new product ideas for safety and sustainability compliance, and define concrete development specifications
• Coordinate relevant certifications and documentation, particularly GOTS, OEKO-TEX®, and other product-specific standards
• Analyze customer feedback, return reasons, and complaints, using insights for continuous product improvement
• Work closely with product management, procurement, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth information flow throughout the development process

What We're Looking For

• Degree in textile/apparel engineering, product development, or comparable education
• Minimum three years of practical experience in product development, textile engineering, or quality management of textile products
• Strong intuition for product details, materials, manufacturing techniques, and customer needs
• Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements; experience with product safety and certifications is ideal
• Proficiency with standard design programs (Illustrator, Photoshop) and MS Office
• Excellent German and English language skills, written and spoken
• Entrepreneurial spirit, creativity, initiative, and enthusiasm for continuous product development
