About This Opportunity

We are representing a specialized insurance brokerage serving high-growth technology companies across Germany and Europe. Our client works with scaling startups, deep-tech innovators, and established tech champions, designing flexible, globally scalable risk solutions from seed stage through IPO and beyond.

As a Senior Risk Advisor, you'll work directly with founders and leadership teams, taking ownership of strategic risk consulting and program design. Your focus will be on Cyber, D&O, and Tech E&O risks for clients in sectors including AI, robotics, fintech, and deep tech. If you bring expertise from other industry sectors, our client will provide specialized training in technology risk.

This role is based in Planegg with flexible remote options.

Responsibilities

• Analyze technology sector risks across all growth stages from startup to enterprise, identifying, assessing, and quantifying exposures for client advisory
• Design scalable insurance solutions including layer structures, limits, sublimits, and negotiate policy terms and conditions
• Compare and evaluate insurance wordings; contribute to development of broker-specific policy language
• Manage market placement processes: prepare tenders, create tender sheets, evaluate proposals, negotiate coverage concepts, and develop presentation-ready recommendations
• Build and maintain relationships with specialty insurers and underwriters, both domestically and internationally
• Serve as strategic advisor on risk management and insurance strategy for client organizations
• Support claims and incident management, coordinating between clients, insurers, and external service providers
• Mentor team members and contribute to the evolution of consulting standards

What We're Looking For

• Completed degree in business, business informatics, law, or comparable qualification
• Extensive experience (typically 7+ years) in risk management, underwriting, or broking at senior level, ideally with industrial or technology clients
• Strong analytical capabilities with high affinity for numbers, data, and complex subject matter
• Structured, independent working style with high personal accountability
• Proactive approach and comfort in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment with rapid decision-making
• Strong client service orientation combined with assertiveness and negotiation skills
• Proficiency with insurance administration systems and standard office applications; openness to AI-powered tools for process optimization
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex topics clearly to founders, tech teams, management, and insurers
• Fluent German and English (business negotiation level)

Pay
