Procurement Manager, Construction and Infrastructure (EPC/EPCM)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential advanced energy client in Munich who is building next-generation infrastructure to support a first-of-a-kind technical demonstrator. This is a high-impact role for an experienced procurement professional who thrives in fast-moving, highly technical project environments.

As Procurement Manager for Construction and Infrastructure, you will own sourcing strategy and supplier relationships for site preparation, utilities, construction works, and engineering services. You will lead the full procurement cycle—from market assessment and RFI/RFP development through contract negotiation and supplier performance management—while working closely with infrastructure, legal, finance, and quality teams to keep complex projects on track.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end procurement for construction, infrastructure, utilities, and site development activities
• Develop sourcing strategies and identify optimal contractors and suppliers for each package
• Lead RFIs, RFPs, and contract negotiations from market assessment through supplier selection
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with contractors, engineering firms, and infrastructure partners
• Align procurement activities with permitting requirements, construction schedules, and project milestones
• Support contract execution by managing change orders, supplier performance, and commercial risks
• Improve procurement processes using digital tools and emerging technologies
• Collaborate across cross-functional teams including infrastructure, legal, finance, and quality functions

What We're Looking For

• Around 8+ years of procurement, sourcing, or commercial experience in construction or infrastructure contexts
• Hands-on experience reviewing and negotiating construction, engineering services, EPC/EPCM, and equipment supply contracts, including commercial terms, liabilities, warranties, change orders, and acceptance provisions
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills
• Comfortable working with technical stakeholders in fast-moving project environments
• Fluent in both German and English (required for this role)
• Pragmatic problem solver who enjoys building relationships and finding creative solutions
• Able to switch between strategic thinking and hands-on execution, navigating multi-stakeholder environments with professionalism
• Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Construction Management, Business, or a related field

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in energy, nuclear, aerospace, infrastructure, industrial facilities, or other highly regulated technical industries
• Familiarity with German construction markets, contractor networks, permitting interfaces, HSE requirements, or industrial site development
• Background working in scale-up, project-driven, or first-of-a-kind technical environments
