Collections Administrator

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential fintech organization that's experiencing significant growth in the UK market. We're seeking a Collections Administrator to join their operations team in Milton Keynes on a hybrid basis (minimum 3 days per week in office).

This is an excellent entry point into financial services for someone with strong administrative skills and attention to detail. No prior collections or financial services experience is required—our client provides comprehensive training on FCA regulation, data protection requirements, and internal processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage delinquent accounts as they progress through the collections workflow
• Perform reconciliation of customer accounts and complete administrative tasks following established procedures
• Update and maintain case management systems with accurate, timely information
• Review and process both hard copy and digital correspondence
• Liaise with customers and third-party representatives including field suppliers, debt collection agencies, and insolvency portfolio managers
• Assess customer affordability using Open Banking software
• Support team members to meet service level agreements and quality standards

What We're Looking For

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow pre-defined procedures consistently across multiple systems
• Good Microsoft Excel skills, or willingness to quickly learn VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and sheet linking
• Team-oriented approach with flexibility to adapt to changing business demands
• Comfort working with KPIs, targets, and quality assurance frameworks
• Eagerness to learn about debt solutions including Payment Arrangements, DMPs, IVAs, Trust Deeds, DROs, and Breathing Space
• Professional communication skills for customer and third-party interactions
• No prior collections experience necessary—the right attitude and judgment matter most
