Senior Software Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization that is transforming the global payments landscape. Our client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their London-based engineering team working on large-scale digital payment infrastructure.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on systems that process high-volume transactions for thousands of businesses worldwide, using modern cloud-native architecture and serverless technologies.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and deploy software services end-to-end for payment processing systems
• Produce clean, scalable, and reusable code that impacts thousands of users with high-throughput requirements
• Work with serverless cloud infrastructure including Lambda functions, Step Functions, and event-driven microservices
• Take ownership of software services from design through production deployment
• Mentor junior engineers and support their professional growth and development
• Lead technical interviews to help scale the engineering team
• Serve as a subject matter expert on technology and domain-specific challenges
• Drive improvements in web service responsiveness and overall performance
• Contribute to continual improvement of engineering processes and best practices

What We're Looking For

• Solid experience as a Software Engineer architecting and developing new services from end to end
• Proven ability to take ownership of design and architecture for large-scale systems
• Strong experience developing API-heavy software solutions independently
• Passion for promoting software engineering best practices and mentoring others
• Experience with modern technology stacks (Python, TypeScript, JavaScript preferred but open to engineers from any programming background)
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS serverless services
• Experience with databases such as Postgres, DynamoDB, Redis, or similar technologies
• Track record of delivering clean, scalable code on complex projects
• Proactive approach to process improvement and technical excellence

Location: London (Shoreditch) - Hybrid structure requiring 3 days per week in office
